Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis — controlled cooling freezes and destroys fat cells. Treated cells are naturally eliminated by the body over weeks, producing gradual contouring without surgery. Most patients tolerate it well with minimal and temporary side effects.
We treat common areas including the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, bra roll, upper arms, and submental (double chin). During consultation we tailor a treatment plan to your anatomy and aesthetic goals for optimal results.
Treatment needs vary by area and desired improvement. Many patients see meaningful reduction after one session, though two to three sessions per area are common. Your provider will recommend an individualized schedule during your consultation.
Most patients feel tugging, cold, or mild discomfort during initial minutes; sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or numbness can occur. Downtime is minimal and most return to normal activities the same day.
CoolSculpting permanently removes treated fat cells, so those cells won’t return. However, remaining fat cells can enlarge with significant weight gain. Maintaining a stable weight, healthy diet, and exercise preserves and maximizes long-term results.
CoolSculpting is non-invasive, requires no incisions or anesthesia, and offers subtle, gradual contouring with minimal downtime. Liposuction provides more immediate and dramatic volume removal but involves surgery, anesthesia, and a longer recovery period.
